Vanderbilt (5-1) at Georgia (5-1)
For the first time this season, Vanderbilt must bounce back from a loss. It will do so with a new quarterback. Coach Bobby Johnson announced Monday that Mackenzi Adams would replace Chris Nickson as the starter after Nickson's lack of production in the passing game was a storyline in last week's 17-14 loss at Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs keep losing offensive linemen: Left tackle Vince Vance was the latest to suffer a season-ending knee injury. But despite the string of devastating injuries, the line yielded no sacks in last week's win over Tennessee. While rolling up an SEC-leading 430 yards per game, the Bulldogs have been inconsistent in the red zone lately. In the last four games, Georgia has scored touchdowns on 7-of-16 trips to the red zone. Interceptions and dropped passes have been the biggest culprits. PLAYERS TO WATCH: QB Matthew Stafford — The junior leads the SEC with 250.5 passing yards per game. He is completing nearly 62 percent of his throws, with eight touchdowns and three interceptions. OL Clint Boling — The 6-5, 286-pounder is the SEC Lineman of the Week after excelling against Tennessee. He moved from right guard to left tackle during the game when Vince Vance suffered a season-ending knee injury. QB Mackenzi Adams — Making his first start this season, Adams will have to give the team the same spark for 60 minutes that he's been able to in shorter bursts. A better thrower than former starter Chris Nickson who has enough mobility to make plays with his feet, Adams will try to restore some punch to an offense that has fallen off badly in the last three games. CB D.J. Moore — Georgia has two outstanding receivers in freshman A.J. Green and Mohammed Massaquoi. Moore will have one of them to deal with at all times, giving him his toughest matchup since facing Rice's Jarett Dillard last month. It will be interesting to see if Moore can lock down his side of the field and make Georgia's passing offense more predictable. |

Adams' first assignment this year as a starter? Only a road game against No. 10 Georgia Saturday, with the winner taking sole control of first place in the Southeastern Conference's East Division.
