Florida (3-1) at Arkansas (2-2)

Alabama defeated Arkansas 49-14 in Fayetteville two weeks ago, then Texas whipped the Hogs 52-10 in Austin.

The combined 77-point margin in consecutive losses is believed to be the second-most in Arkansas history, and it's easily the most decisive backto-back blowouts with Coach Bobby Petrino calling the shots.

Bobby and his brother, offensive coordinator Paul Petrino, seemed to understand there could be rebuilding involved during the 2008 season at Arkansas when they signed on last December. But they were not expecting the crushing losses Arkansas has gone through the past couple of weeks.

Petrino's teams at Louisville lost nine games in four seasons, and backto-back losses occurred only once, in 2003, Petrino's first season. The Cardinals lost 31-28 at unbeaten and 13 th- ranked Texas Christian on Nov. 5, then fell 37-7 at home against Memphis on Nov. 15.

Louisville's combined margin of defeat in nine losses under Petrino was 107 points. Petrino's 2008 Hogs could match or exceed that number with another blowout loss against No. 12 Florida on Saturday.

Even Petrino's Atlanta Falcons, who were 3-10 before he left last season, endured only one loss of more than 21 points, a 31-7 setback against Tampa Bay.

All of which makes Arkansas' losses to Alabama and Texas difficult for the Petrino brothers to accept.

Bobby Petrino preached patience early this week.
